Forget "Don't Ask" - the US government is adopting a policy of flat out "Don't Tell." Or at the very least the military is - but if the military can do this, how can we know the government would ethically enforce corporate social responsibility?

Modern day agriculture in developed countries is really flourishing - but only because the small farms are being oppressed and put out of business. Nowadays it seems farmers can only get along if they use special self-destructing single use seeds and industrial chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

You need to read this today, because if you have anything to say about it, today is your last chance. They only gave the public a 7-day review process, and this only crossed my desk about 10 hours ago.

As reported by Reuters, by 2025 about one third of the world's population will be scraping for water, according to The United Nations Human Development Report for 2006 [pdf].
I read the report myself (which I highly recommend), and it's not as scary as Reuters makes it sound. According to the HD report, "Globally, there is more than enough water to go round: the problem is that some countries get a lot more than others."

Between the press being censored by the government, and so-called news on the television being flooded with fake news, there really isn't anywhere to turn - except the blogosphere.

Your insurance salesman is going to push whole life over term life for one simple fact - he gets paid more for whole life. Now why do you think he gets paid more for selling you a whole life insurance package? Might it be that the insurance company makes more money off it?

Here we have a debate on who to believe. On one hand, we have Media Matters, a not for profit ...
On the other hand, we have a guy named Chris Horner trying to sell a book through Human Events, a self proclaimed conservative, for profit, newsletter. Once again thumbs down for the political self-rubberstamping, and another thumbs down for demanding I buy information that should be public knowledge. Something about this just sounds all kinds of shady to me.

Social entrepreneurships, now more than ever, have their work cut out for them. With a good portion of the world at war - with themselves, with others, within their own governments - it is becoming increasingly difficult for the systems that are in place to inform and assist the public effectively. One major blockade is that the social sector businesses, mainstream media outlets in this case, are being censored by the government or due to value rubs, so nobody knows what is actually going on.

When asked what their main goal is, their - well I suppose I would call him a co-founder - who identifies himself as Animus Invidious, responded quite enthusiastically "why, to expand the collective consciousness of the world, of course! In other words to aid the coming about of the paradigm shift of the collective mindset of humanity to a more enlightened, harmonious vibe."

Somalia is one of the few nations in this world effectively without a government. They have been in torrid civil war for more than a decade, and it is coming apart at the seams. The most recent concern, as reported by BBC, is a worsening cholera epidemic.
